- Having spent most of my working life at sea, as a sailor in the merchant marine,I have recently come ashore for a second go as a land lubber.The first time I was retrenched due to the GFC and I went back to sea on the Bass Strait ferries .Three years later,here I am. My job as a cargo super involves a company car and a small amount of driving around, which I try to keep to a minimum. Sigh! I wonder if that sense of style rubs off if you get close enough. Of course, the risk is that it would go the other way and Ruby would end up with spectacles and too many woolly scarves. The mixte is so 'right'.
