- Having spent most of my working life at sea, as a sailor in the merchant marine,I have recently come ashore for a second go as a land lubber.The first time I was retrenched due to the GFC and I went back to sea on the Bass Strait ferries .Three years later,here I am. My job as a cargo super involves a company car and a small amount of driving around, which I try to keep to a minimum. This blog is my view of the world from the saddle and also a diary of my passion for old, steel framed French treadlies.

Confession,Ms BB. She is actually tethered to the box by a rope and snap hook connected to the saddle bag eyes on the saddle. It works. Once she leaped over the side of the Bullitt and was left hanging in mid air.Safe, snug and somewhat embarrassed.
